I did it!!!!

As of the final week of NaNoWriMo, I've passed the 50,000 word count.  My official word count is now 50,603.  And I have a nice little ol' Winner's Certificate to nano_09_winner_120x240prove it,  a, well, a picture.  Which I'm pasting. Or posting.

More on my thoughts about NaNoWrimo, and what it taught me, as of December 1.  For now, I can only say, it was very good discipline!

Well done, Anne! I'm impressed. That takes so much discipline.

Believe me, it was a very hard slog. And I'm still going to write a little more on it, even though I don't have anything near a "complete" novel(will be longer than 50,00- words, and there will have to be drastic revisions).

And thanks for your support!

Huge congratulations, Anne. I tried Nano two years ago and I found I couldn't turn off my editor. It had the opposite effect on me than the intended one. I still have to get back in the saddle--or what ever cliché you prefer. I am in awe of you and Nan, who also crossed the finish line well ahead of schedule.

Oh don't worry about that! I had trouble turning off my "editor", too, but I sort of "disciplined" myself and just kept telling myself to write! And it worked. Of course, I've still only got half a novel, but I don't care, because it will have to be revised anyway. Furthermore, there were a couple of times when I wasn't on: one was when my ISP upgraded their software and I had to upgrade mine before I could get back on the Intenet and the other was Thanksgiving. Had I been on all the time, I would have gotten farther. But unlike some competitors, I'm not "competitive" about this. I just want material I can work with.
