To all those who were kind enough to comment, thank you! I'm pleased and gratified by the response so far. This is still a bit of a work in progress; I plan to put links to writing, medieval, and anthropological material(since all of these elements will be in my book(s) one way or another, and I've added a picture from my own files, that's more or less the centraal female figure.
